Workshop on Basic Autonomous Robotics"THE ARELAB"
Students Association of Robotics Science (SARS) organised Workshop on Basic Autonomous Robotics.The workshop was conducted by Ananda Sankar Kundu Director of THE ARE Labs Kolkata.It was a three days workshop. The main motto of the workshop was to make students aware of the basic autonomous robotics concepts which help the students to make their own autonomous robots. The major topics which was covered during workshop was as following:
- Introduction to Robotics
- Introduction to Microcontrollers
Platform: C / Assembly
Microcontroller: MCS-51/ AVR/ PIC
- Interfacing with the Sensors.
Type: Line sensors and Obstacle avoiders, Transducers: LDR and IR
- Driving the Motors
DC motor: ie Unidirectional and Bidirectional Driving,
Stepper Motor Driving
- Building the Robot,
Assembling the Robot and Positioning the Sensors
- Algorithms Line Following Robot/ Grid Navigation/ Micromouse Algorithms etc.
There were more than 180 students who attended the workshop and gained the concepts of building an autonomous robots. Beside that large numbers of the faculty members were also present on the day.
