History Of SARS

On 20th of January,2007 a group was started by five students and they didn't even knew how to prepare a basic robot. But they were helped and motivated by their seniors "Nirab Kumar(CSE)" and "Sujeet kumar(ECE)" of the batch 2003-2007. All the five members started working with their full enthusiasm and made a robot that was presented at ISM Dhanbad. They secured fourth position amongst the 51 participating teams.

Then all of them started working together and paticipated in many tech-fests held at various colleges such as ISM Dhanbad, Jadavpur University, MAHE Manipal, IIT Kharagpur...............

On 20th of February,2008 those six members namely Vikash Kumar(Ece), Vikash Kumar(Ece), Abhinav kumar singh(Ece), Deepak Roshan(Mech), Om Prakash Jha(Mech) and Pawan Kumar(Mech) finally decided to start a robotix club in the college which was also supported by the PRINCIPAL.

On 21st of February,2008 the robotics group was extended to 30 members and they named it SARS (Students Association Of Robotix Science). All of them worked together and they soon bagged four prizes in various robotics competitions held at NIT Jamshedpur.

On 15th of August,2008 the Principal granted the permission to extend it and promised to provide all the basic requirements to SARS. At present there are more than 200 members in SARS with various types of equipments and facilities. At present our sars club is having almost all the advanced equipments required to build a bot.Our club has been organising workshops and seminar on Autonomous robotics from which many students have been benifited. The club also provides Demo classes for the students who are newcomer in the field of robotics.

For this SARS is thankful to the Principal and Prof. D. Mukherjee who have been the guiding force behind the team's success.........
