DAKSHA 2oo9 "The Robo xtreme"
Students Association of Robotics Science (SARS) organised "Daksha 2oo9" - First Annual tech fest of SARS on 22th Feb 2009. The event started with the warm welcome ceremony. Our respected Principal sir was chief guest on this ocation. Beside that Prof Bhatacharya sir, S.N padhy sir, vishwajeet sir also blessed the event by their presence. The event comprises of three robotics competition namely Robokriti, Robowars and Robopick. The complete details of the events which were organised durind DAKSHA 2009 are as following:
- ROBOKRITI-The On spot robotics competition (Dated : 22th Feb 2009)
Preliminary round:-
- Max 3 member were there in a team.
-
It was a written test round.
- In this round there were 45 objective questions & 30 min were provided to each team to solve them.
-
Top 6 teams were qualiflied for the next round.
Second round:-
- All 6 teams qualified for the 2nd round were provided with the required set of instruments for making a robot.
- All the robot specifications were provided to them on the spot.
- Each team were given 3.5 hrs for making the robot with the given requirements and specifications.
- Point calculations:
- Proper switch connections were awarded with 20 points .
- Proper connection of motor was awarded with 10 point.
- Correct soldering was awarded with 20 points.
Final round :-
- Final team robot models were tested in the given arena .
- Winner were decided on the basis of successful testing of the robot in the given arena and the points scored by the team in the 2nd round.
- All the testing conditions and specifications were provided on the spot.
-
ROBO PICK- The Aqua Robo competition (Dated : 22th Feb 2009)
In this event the various robot models were tested "whether it was capable of traversing on water surface"??? In final round the qualified robots have to collect the balls and place it at required locations.
Preliminary round:
- Max 3 members were allowed in a team
- Limiting time(T) was 90 sec for the second round .
- The first round was the judgment and deciding round.
- Selection for final round was completely on the basis of points secured in the preliminary round.
- Initially each team were assigned with 500 points.
- If any team crashed with the arena boundary (A),then it lost 10 points per crash.
- If any team completion time (T1) was more than the limiting time, then it Lost (substract) 1 point / sec (Tm=T1-T)
- If any team completion time(T2) was less then the limiting time then , they had Gained (add) 1 points / sec (Tp= T-T2)
- Calculation of total point (T.P) = 500 + [1* n(Tp)]-[1*n(Tm)]- [10*nA].(n = no of crashes).
- Top 8 teams were qualified for the final round.
Final rounds:
-
Those 8 teams which were qualified for the second round played in the second Arena.
- Limiting time(T) was 300 sec for the second round
- This was the do or die round becoz the top three teams were selected in this round.
- The selection was done on the basis of the points secured by the team.
- Rules for points calculation:-
- Time remaining (Tr) = 300 - Time taken in sec.
- Points = (5 x I + 10 x J +15xK.)
Where:
K = Number of balls correctly placed on the platform.
J = Number of balls incorrectly placed on the platform.
I = number of balls collected by the robot but remain unplaced on the platform.
- Total score = points + (Tr x 0.5).
-
ROBOWARS-The Fighting Robot Competition (Dated : 22th Feb 2009)
Rules and Regulations
- Max 3 member were in a team.
- It was a knockout competition.
- All rounds were knockout round.
- To win the game one team's robot had to push the opponent's robot out of the arena or distroy the opponent's robot model (ie, make it unworkable).
- Rules For Point Calculation
-
10 points per punching (for hitting the opponent’s robot) were awarded to the team .
- 5 points were awarded to the team for entering the danger area of the opponent and returning back to its own arena.
- In case any of the team failure to take the opponent's robot out of the arena or disable the opponent’s robot then the points fetched by the teams were taken under consideration to decide the winner.
- The winning teams made through the next round.
- Those teams who got more points in knockout round, they were selected for the next round.
There were more than 80 participants all over who participated with their great energy and bravia. This not only lighted the torches of SARS victory but also made "Daksha" a grand event.Last comes the closing ceremony. All the faculty members, participants and Cheif Guest have given a great hands of applause for the team. Principal sir had also appreciated the SARS Group in his concluding speech.
