AUTONOMOUS ROBOTICS

PROBLEM STATEMENT

It is a line-follower & obstacle detector robot. This simple robot is designed to be able to follow a white line on the black road without getting off the line too much & it has to detect the obstacle by giving an indication through LEDS.

PRELIMINARY ROUND

In this round the line-follower has to cover the given path from the starting position to the final position & robot has to follow 3 cm white line path in the black road without getting off from the white line.

RULES & REGULATION

Maximum 4 members should be in a team.

For this event, the team has to reach at the finish point.

At a time only one robot can enter into the arena.

Limiting time is 5 min. for the preliminary round.

If any team’s completion time (T1) is more than the limiting time, then it losses (subtract) 1 point / sec (Tm=T1-T).

If any team’s completion time (T1) is less than the limiting time, then they will gain (add) 1 point / sec (Tp= T-T1).

Calculation of total points T = [(Tp)-(Tm)]

Qualified groups for final round will be announced on the event spot.

Number & teams to be selected for the 2nd round shall be announced at the event site.

FINAL ROUND

In this round the line-follower has to cover the given path from the starting position to the final position & robot has to follow 3 cm white line path in the black road without getting off from the white line & LED will glow when obstacles are found in the path. After that, it will stop glowing.

RULES & REGULATION

For this event, the team has to reach at the finish point.

At a time only one robot can enter into the arena.

Limiting time is 8 min. for the final round.

If any team’s completion time (T1) is more than the limiting time, then it losses (subtract) 1 point / sec (Tm=T1-T).

If any team’s completion time (T1) is less than the limiting time, then they will gain (add) 1 points / sec (Tp= T-T1).

For detection of obstacle (LED will glow when obstacles are found in the path), it gains (add) 50 points/each obstacle detection (Ob).

Calculation of total points: T = [(Tp)-(Tm) +50*(Ob)]

The team which attains the maximum points will be declared as winner.

The winning teams have to explain their respective algorithms of their robots to the judges.
